They are mathematically related in the sense you are talking about in that they can be accurately described as limits, or asymptotically.
lim┬(n→∞) 1/n = 0 ∴ lim┬(n→0) 1/n = ∞
lim┬(n→∞) 1/n = 0 ∴ lim┬(n→0) 1/n = ∞
