Ronedee, you do have an imagination! I suppose you need to if you want to believe in God, etc.
What if the only reason we would want to live forever is because we want to live and strive for happiness because we understand all the above.
Take any of that away and we are just drones again. What does "happiness" or any of the other emotions feel like with no frame of reference?
You are dreaming of a Rome. A Rome that never was and never will be. And never can be.
"Eternity" is a man made construct... That word doesn't exist in "Practical Universes 101".
As we know religion has a very ugly and deadly side to it which is why I won't entertain the lighter philosophical side to it in discussions.
