What's really frustrating is that the people griping and fighting against minimum wage increases don't realize that the minimum wage was conceived as a living wage. The entire point is a minimum that people can live on without draining government assistance coffers. Welfare isn't supposed to be permanent taxpayer supplied supplemental income.
The critics went apeshit when it was first set at 25 cents an hour. They are still apeshit crazy.
