Why do you need evidence? Sometimes I wonder how Christians can live with themselves (at least the far right-wingers), but if they're happy, then fine. I can avoid them or engage them as need be.

I was just illustrating that relying only and exclusively on evidence for every mental construct (such as empathy, in this case) is a futile, fatal, nihilistic effort.
Evidence definitely has its place, but so is an innate sense of morality that you can't provide evidence for.
So the conclusion is that: not every mental construct needs evidence.
