I can agree on a few points here.
1. It is terribly sad that people feel the need to kill each other over something so fucking ridiculous.
2. These people are to blame and that's what happens when you get worked up over something stupid, but this is actually the best case scenario if they want to get violent. They weren't exactly innocent bystanders and it could have been worse. In the part of Boston my mom grew up in, around her teenage years, there was a lot of bullshit going around about interracial couples. My mother can recall one time when a white man who was dating a black girl had his teeth knocked out (all of them, not like he was punched and one fell out) and they raped his girlfriend. In this case, and many others, the violence was taken out on innocents who simply loved each other. While the couple in this instance are surely hurt emotionally because of the violence, at least the violence was perpetrated against the violent and not the innocent.
