I really really hope this is the case if Trump becomes the nominee but I don't share your optimism about this changing the political map irrevocably. It maybe the case that Utah turns blue this election cycle, but why should that mean that it can't go red again in 2020?
Nothing political is ever irrevocable. And perhaps the mormons are simply voting with Romney. But I think tney are voting with their much more reliable pocket bookks
