God and Distaster

I've prevented many natural disasters! Every night I put on my magic hat and wave the Twig of Prevention. This protects Canada from hurricanes. It obviously works, because I don't even know when Canada last suffered a hurricane. Can you imagine how many disasters I've prevented? Canadians should be thanking me, but they never do.

That was YOU all along?? All praise Thor for keeping Canada safe!! I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you!!!

Well, at last a little recognition! I think it's time I've been rewarded for my tireless efforts. All you Canadians should start sending me some cash or I will no longer protect you from hurricanes! And US currency only! I don't want that monopoly money with pictures of birds on it.

Religious logic : "Well, that was bad, tens of thousands died, millions more will suffer, but I guess it could have been worse, PRAISE THE LORD!!!"

This reminds me of a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon. I don't recall the specifics, but the kid and his tiger go from one bad thing to another in rapid succession. In the final panel the kid surmises, "You know. I've discovered that things are never so bad that they can't get worse."
