But it seems like an extremely awesome idea. I'm not so worried about drainage with the battery as I am with the lack of room I have for stuff I'll actually use. If I'm never going to use any of those apps, why do they need to stay there taking up space?
Well, depends on which version of Android and whether you have the default Settings app.
Menu -> Settings -> Apps -> choose an app -> Disable
This won't reclaim the space used by the app but it will prevent them from running. A typical app doesn't use a lot of storage, however.
