Went to the opening for this show for my wife and her friend and fellow retiree Carole last night. Bastards wouldn't let me take any pictures last night but I got some the day before at a preview for the press and collectors. Here are a couple photos I took at the day before the opening. On my flickr site there are also photos of pieces done by former students as well as blurbs each one wrote regarding their relationship with my wife as a teacher that I found pretty moving. Lia and Carole taught and were mainstays of the textile department at Ca. College of Arts for 30-40 years. It is a multi-generational show including work by both Carole's and Lia's students, some of whom are teaching now.
On an outer wall just outside the gallery.

Talking to a former grad student (now an administrator as well as professor and artist) who conceived and curated the show. The display case contains a collection of Carole's smaller sculptures, the large orange funnel is also hers but the piece on the far wall is Lia's.

A piece Lia has been adding to for quite a while now, one image executed in multiple ways on the Jiquard.
