I thought sola scriptura would suffice in this matter as it is more accurate than saying I am a Catholic, Mormon or a bible thumping wingnut.

No it doesn't. For the simple reason that it doesn't say anything on where you stand as far as science is concerned and what "sola" actually means. Literalist or interpreting at your leisure? It also doesn't say if "sola" means both books or only the new one. That, of course doesn't cover any shades of grey between alpha and omega.

So, in short, at least I don't know who I'm talking to.
