It isn't one religion that pisses me off. My species ability to be compassionate and non violent doesn't piss me off. That has always been part of our evolution. Our species inability to see our fellow humans as just that, fellow humans, is hindered by the club mentality religions cause.
I think it is delusional even on the part of atheists to think you can create a godless and religion free planet of 7 billion. I don't think atheists should be seeking a utopia either. Our species reality will always be messy and imperfect.
Now having said that. I will ALWAYS be for scrutiny and debate and blasphemy of any and all religions worldwide. No religion deserves a pedestal.
There is not one religion in the world, as an umbrella label, that does not have sub sects that compete as to the interpretations of that umbrella label. There has never been, or will be a perfectly unifying religion where no divisions exist.
As an atheist, what pisses me off the most is male testosterone worldwide. What pisses me off is that I see so much good our species is capable of, but far too often we'd rather beat the shit out of each other to get what we want, than to use diplomacy and cooperation in spite of our differences.
Religion has to be stood up to. Not because individuals in any religion are always bad, but because without that scrutiny those in it can create a mass with political power and weapons. Religion is the artificial excuse humans have invented to create social pecking orders. But the evolutionary reality is that those labels have NEVER made us a separate species.
The planet is too small, there is no more room for anyone to expand or dominate. If our species is to collectively survive, our priorities have to move away from war and tribalism and global problem solving. NO, at least for me, that is not a call for a one world government. There will never be a utopia with 7 billion diverse humans. But we can collectively seek a more civil world where solving problems of poverty, pollution crime, and reducing global conflict, will benefit humanity long term.
I will always value my species ability for empathy. I will never value the idea that that empathy has a magical or mythological source.
