From medical advice I've received you're technically supposed to phone for an ambulance whenever you feel pain in your chest that you think could be caused by your heart.
My heart skips beats and I phoned up a helpline and what they asked me is do I have any chest pain and if so I should phone for an ambulance. I didn't have any actual pain though it was just a pretty weird heartbeat which I still get sometimes.
On the other hand chest pain can be caused by various things, but I'd go as soon as possible to the doctor whether or not your parents want you to.
