The 'twink' thing was and remains quite popular, despite my tastes in male flesh going in quite another direction.
I recall the horror and consternation among my circle of college friends when 2 of the 'twinks' in the group hooked up with each other, LOL !! Of course, there was the thought it was terribly wasteful for 'twinks' to hook up with each other instead of spreading the 'twinkitivity' around.
I note in the series "Queer as Folk" the Justin character even bragging to his BF Brian he was a 'perfect' twink. And I had already noted the actor portraying Justin had some noticeable sideburns and it definitely spoiled the entire 'twink' thing as far as I was concerned.
That the societal concept of 'twink' has evolved over the years is certainly disappointing, I think by broadening the criteria we've lost something and further, by classifying some hairier types as twinks, we've diluted the brand.
