@LR: Most of hinduism is pretty bullshit, though I admit they contain better fantasy and woo than the bible. So just as you are using Hinduism for the parts of bible that "don't make sense", what is your fallback for the parts in Hinduism that don't make sense? The quran?
You say that we are not entirely god's image but a part of god's awareness, right? Then god is just as evil... after all the junior gods like Indra and all are cousins/half-brothers to the demons and asuras, and all were created within one exhalation of Vishnu, in other words, part of his consciousness. Moreover, according to Hindu mythology, the demons would have been a lot less problematic if the gods didn't keep granting their wishes and giving them enough power to torture the humans, just so the deities could play hero. The avatars of the gods weren't much better than the demons. Either way, if we are talking about sin, then as per hindu mythology their gods are just as sinful.
Apart from that, the gods don't seem much knowledgeable either. Just look at their cosmology as per gita and other scriptures. I certainly don't hate the idea of a butter island floating on an ocean of honey or wine, but when you think an incarnation of god imparted those to prove the divine knowledge of reality, you have to wonder what they were smoking at that point, and what people are smoking now to believe those bs.
