This is like the objection that was raised in the UK parliament about amending birth certificates because if someone was born a Lord then they'd have to be given the title of Lady instead.

Absolutely irrelevant for the majority of transsexuals around the world or in recent history who have had to deal with the following problems or risks:

Ostracisation, 43% chance of attempted suicide, increased risk of assault, rape, murder, even by the police, becoming jobless and homeless, being thrown into the wrong jail, having to fight a hostile medical establishment and lack of appropriate medical care, being denied basic human rights such as the ability to use a toilet etc.

It's like telling a Syrian refugee to stay in their own war torn county because they or their children will have no chance of competing in the Olympics for the county they want to settle in.

Are you so foolish to think transsexuals are the only social group ever ostracized? Ever socially restricted? So then why are their suicide rates so high? Did slaves have a 43% suicide rate? what about oppressed minorities? Keep in mind their is no Klan comming for them, nor is their arrest or prosecution for simply being the wrong color at the wrong time of day. So why then is their such depression to the point of suicide rate so high? Well, the big elephant in the room (that you lefties are either too stupid to see or refuse to acknowledge) is the fact that transsexualism is indeed a mental illness. It is a symptom of a far greater problem that manifests itself through the change of gender identity. The mental illness depression based, and the gender change comes about as a way to try and change what they think they do not like about themselves. The problem is for this 'change' to be effective or complete transgendered people need/want to be accepted by others. Their's is a need for 'unconditional acceptance.' Which will Never happen.

Here is the flaw that lefties will never acknowledge or maybe never truly understand.. Even if you force social compliance with bathrooms and locker rooms, you nor your legislation will every truly give transgendered people what they want. Why? because that is the nature of mental illness. their happiness or lack there of come from with in, and even though at the moment the majority of the happiness desired comes from a desire to force compliance.. Once all the media goes away, once no one gives a poop, and the lime light gets shifted to the next sexual perversion that is liberated from the prison of social taboo, Trans gendered people will still have to contend with the root cause that sent them down to the 'chop shop' to begin with.. And nothing you can do will ever change that. No amount of legislation, no amount of social insanity will take that 43% down to zero. It may stave off the numbers for a while (while in the lime light) but ultimately transgendered people are not fighting the rest of us, but the demon of mental illness. That is the reason for your suicides not social oppression, Social oppression is simple the hill they choose to die on, the true issue is the choice to die, not where.
