(June 8, 2016 at 8:27 am)Stimbo Wrote: Minor quibble, but the Macbeth quote runs "Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more. It is a tale told by an idiot; full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." I had to memorise it when I played Macbeth at school.
I thought Marylin Manson is the one who came up with that all along ! despite him speaking about Macbeth in the exact song he used the quote in. As deep and smart as he is, it makes sense that he didn't came up with this; too cool even for him
Every word in that quote is true. Life is not supposed to be lived, I wouldn't say its a tale told by an idiot though, I would say "it's a tale symbolizing finite pleasure for an idiotic ego".
Life is a prophet who has a message, but instead of realizing the message it carries, people attack the sources that made it this way. Without asking what is the reason for it to be like this.
