No matter what anyone says: You're not human trash.

I was self employed with a handshake contract. That makes it even easier to get fired. Not that being employed would offer much more security where I worked, since I observed people being fired while on sick leave. That's borderline illegal by the way, but they've been pressured into accepting consensual termination.

Bottom line is, at the wrong side of 50, it's very hard to find a job earning a living. Not after 2008. There's next top no growth and having worked as a journalist for the last 26 years, I probably won't get a job at the media again. They simply don't hire but lay off. And if they hire, it's very young people, willing to slave away for a pittance.
