I always liked shite better. Maybe because it sounds more like our word for it.
But I get your drift about the accents. There's nothing more enjoyble vulgar as some native really going on a cursing spree.
I think "shite" it sounds particularly good in a Liverpool accent because of how they make "I" sounds like "aaaii"
