I had a collie dog that had more brain and consciousness than many so called human being.
Everything is moving and changing so a human may lose his humanity and a dog may acquire humanity.
The meaning of morality has nothing to do with saying that a immoral person doesn't deserve to be called human anymore.
If I think someone is a human just because they are a human, then I fail? What?
Every person in the world who has ever existed was a human being from the day they were born until the day they die. To take a person that you consider to be lacking in humanity and treat that person as subhuman makes you immoral. There is no crime that could ever justify treating someone as subhuman.
As far as dogs go, well, dogs are humans too IMO
