BTW, I am not sure what the meaning of the phrase in the title "world economic core", is.
China may be the single largest economy amongst nation states, but the European Union would still be bigger overall, and proporational to respective economies, not only export more than China, but add much more value than chinese trade. The total value of goods and services traded around the Atlantic will still far exceed the total trade centered around China. It won't be for at least another 20 years before Chinese trade might rival translatic trade in the overall scheme of world economy
Eventhough a selected Chinese few industry might become world class by 2016, the overall Chinese economy, including all the shielded somestic sectors, although rapidly exiting the basic low valuing walmart goods catagory, would still be relatively inefficient and backwards compare to Europe, America and Japan, adding relatively little value for the value it consumes. Size not withstanding, it would be at least another 30-40 years before China can become a fully developed economy able to compete across the board with Europe, America, Japan, or even South Korea.
