The PZ 1 was nothing but an armored machine gun carrier. Armed with two MG 34. Not much stronger than the Sd.Kfz. 231.
Halftrucks, such as the Hanomag were mainly used to dispatch troops quickly. Also armed with an MG 34, later with an MG 42. They evolved during the war, of course, featuring all kinds of weaponry, up to grenade and missile launchers.
