Pedophiles

So, here is some logic:

Some Catholic priests are pedophiles (although I think it is rare)
Catholicism should be avoided because some Catholic priests are pedophiles
Some western Doctors (MDs) are pedophiles
Western medicine should be avoided because some MDs are pedophiles (although I think it is rare)

How about that logic?  I mean, there are pedophiles in EVERY profession, from medicine to teaching to lawn mowers and etc.  [...]

Sure. But catholic church - as well as most other religious organizations - has been actively protecting and relocating their pedophiles. That's a MAJOR difference. People of most professions have very little opportunity to be alone with vulnerable children; those that do - like teachers and pediatricians - are under heavy scrutiny and if they're even suspected of pedophilia, their careers are usually over. But not priests, who - when accused of child abuse - are often just sent away to another parish, while the victims are pressured to keep quiet, in order to protect the image of the church.

The problem is: the catholic church - like most other churches - wants to be considered an authority on morality, yet has no way of making sure their own officials are any less immoral, than anyone else. Then - if you excuse my French - what the f*ck are they for?
