The cause of my deconversion was christianity itself. When you know too much, it falls in on itself leaving you there standing amongst broken glass (stained glass of course). At the end, you realize that everything you attributed to god would have happened with or without prayer/intercession. So then you think, "what the fuck is the point of having a god?" Every "miracle" that you ascribe to the handy work of god then becomes seen as just another event in nature.
All in all, I realized that there is no point to god. If there is no point, there is no reason to believe. So here I am.
