I'm at work so I can't go through the rest of the responses, but while I'm sure it won't matter to your opinion -
I buy refurbed camera equipment all the time. I can't afford anything else. I haven't had a single issue. If you buy from a reputable distributor, the quality is basically just like a shiny new toy. Everything is wiped, cleaned, reset, etc.
I did buy my laptop brand new, because I had the money and I wanted something specific that had come out that year for photography and gaming specs. But I'm down to buy a refurbed kindle/tablet/camera stuff.
Might I suggest a different tablet if you don't want to spend that kind of money? Did you say why you had to get that specific one?
