Where The Hell is C/L Lately?

My not being a student of human psychology leaves me perplexed, befuddled and confused as to motivations for coming here by folks of a religious bent when they aren't eagerly proselytizing, defending their faith or refuting atheism (however ineffectively that is being done these days).

Or additionally, religious folks coming here in a spirit of questioning their basis of faith or their religions claims. So when other religious folks come here to 'hang out' and share the camaraderie, I gets me confused. When the actively feligious folks come here to proselytize or defend their God and get blown out of the water, rudely or not, doesn't seem like the others here just chewing the fat could stick around for that with out experiencing some blow back, ricochets, or shrapnel as a consequence.

And in just the course of doing what we do here on the atheist side, there will be a seemingly relentless parade of all kinds of horrors plucked from the media of supposedly pious folks doing absolutely vile things. To sit around and see us 'making the sausage' and then expressing annoyance as to how that's done, well, you see where I'm headed here.
