I am going to go out on a limb here and guess it's because they don't believe in the ridiculous notion that a woman has to a) be skinny or feminine to be beautiful and/or b) be beautiful at all.
If you're attracted to women and you're a woman then you're a lesbian. There's no qualifier that the women you fall in love with or choose to have relations with have to be "pretty".
Et tu Yeauxie? Are we really perpetuating this lie that a woman needs to meet some arbitrary standard of beauty in order to be womanly enough?
