Online dating is the most sensible option assuming there isn't someone you work with or know already who's compatible with you.
People talk about online dating sometimes as if the people are being imported from an alternate universe.
As if the people who are online are different from the people you work with, go to night clubs or hang around any area of the general public.
There's a lot of scare stories like people who got murdered from meeting on plenty of fish, which has happened, but people have been murdered by someone they haven't met online too.
I'd say the one downside is that if you're easily addicted to stuff and you like sex, you might end up addicted to just meeting up with people and having sex, possibly more likely to happen to a man then a woman.
This has pretty much happened to me, I've met around 60 or 70 women online, I do think I could settle down now though at this stage, that's my goal.
I've probably had every kind of relationship you can imagine, some that lasted for a night, a few nights, weeks, a month, and some that lasted for years.
Plus every variations on looks and personalities, unemployed drug users, teachers, marketing manager, PAs, a vet, chef, pharmacy worker, tall girls short girls, black girls white girls brown girls.
Muslim girls, Christian girls, Hindu girls, atheist girls, no Jewish girls, although I did get talking to one.
I've never met anyone who was a total psycho who told any blatant lies on their profile, although I did meet a lesbian in denial and some women who hid how overweight they were. Those are probably my worst experiences.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.
