This seems so simple, but really it is profound!
If you think "If I just do or get x, then I'll be happy" you will NEVER be happy. Not for long anyway.
You need to be happy first, and take joy in the journey. I have learned that fake it 'til you make it actually works pretty well with happiness. If I'm feeling down (and I have some very bad downs), a certain amount of distraction and acceptance, and just learning to let things go and be happy right now is the most amazing thing!
It takes a lot of practice, but I swear it works. I used to be depress all the time. And nervous. I was a wreck. Happy is something I had to learn how to be. And now I just love life. : I still get moods, but now I know they will pass, and I know how to help them pass much quicker to get back to happiness.
I do still ramble a bit though, lol.
