5. Millions of workers will find their skills unmarketable
These companies can survive with a great deal of creativity and money. But since the fossil fuel industry has tended to lean to the conservative right, I don’t see them going with the flow of new technology. I see them fighting it as an enemy. They will lose in the end just as daguerreotype lost to Kodak.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.
