The phrase "Captain! We're being boarded!" simply means "Captain! People are getting on the ship!". In the middle of the ocean, people getting on the ship shouldn't happen, ergo being boarded in the middle of the ocean isn't a good thing

But I still think of pirates when I hear the phrase "boarding a ship". Don't know why, I just accosiate that word with raiding another ship. Anyway, I probably shouldn't work on a cruise. Things could probably go very wrong, or very intresting. It depends
