I think you should educate yourself on asexuality. People identify as asexuals that have had and still have sexual urges, they just hold them so insignificant on an intellectual level, or inconvenient at some point in their lives that they simply overcome them to an exceptional degree. That's not to say this is the easiest thing in the world for everyone, nor that this is the only type of asexualism there is.
Well..I mean asexuality is defined as having "the lack of sexual attraction to anyone, or low or absent interest in or desire for sexual activity." There isn't really much in there about 'suppressing' something.
