Alcohol prices are more or less the same throughout the UK and we don't have any restrictions, other than the purchase age - 18 - and the times they can sell it at.
18? Nice. It's that age in Canada too, I believe. Here in the states, it's 21. Amazing how you can die for your country at age 18, but you can't drink until you're 21.
If you go 7 miles south to Maryland, you can buy beer in any quantity, at the store, clear up until 2am, seven days a week in some locations. And it's cheaper. Many people who live close to the PA/ MD border get their alcohol from MD.
Yeah, I was aware that different states have different regulations, laws, pricing and all that stuff. 21 for alcohol is fucking ridiculous. We've got such a drinking culture in the UK that there would be public outrage if they tried to increase it.
18 is sensible because as you said, you can die for your country and pretty much do everything else at that age. Take it you visit Maryland often?
