The story made me think of religion, the quran, the bible, government, even just general psychology of brainwashing yourself in order to fit in within day to day life, which I think people do all the time.
I don't think anyone really reads random books upon recommendations but I strongly STRONGLY recommend everyone to read this.
Anyone else read it? What did you think? I don't know what to read after this, I don't think any other book can match it.
Good book. A criticism of wartime and postwar domestic policy and actions in the UK as he saw it. I don't know if it's the best book ever written, but it's pretty good. What did you like about it, particularly, it would help with book recommendations. The dystopian setting? The use of sci fi as commentary? The narrative arc...any particular character? How roughly it parallels the current surveillance state in the UK?
