It seems to me that he thinks that the logical thinking of atheism has led to society becoming weak in the face of lesser civilised cultures and that those cultures will take over western civilisation.
In my opinion it is the other way round, that atheism is spreading like a disease through religious and non-logical thinking areas of the world.
I also think that individualism and creativity leak through the cracks of religion, rather than being promoted by it.
I do believe that civilisation can be sustained without religion and, because of these times of mass tele-communication, it could also do without borders, eventually.
