I'm grateful for The Lord's Judgment in standards of being and the removal of error, whether through repentance and baptism or the direct burning off of sin. If there was none, then one's errors could continue to compile forever, lifetime after lifetime with zero chance of self extrication. Nothing to "virus check" the soul.
Some seeds respond when watered, others require a touch of fire to sprout. I have felt both.
