I disagree. One may know a lot of things, which is what schools teach, but one might not know how to integrate those facts, which is what intelligence is.
If you are talking about a university, then it's not a very good one. In my experience, while there was some wrote memory, there was very much serious thinking, conventions, debates, cafe conversations with profs, etc.
