No, Jesus' assertion doesn't make anything true. But YOU said that Augustus was taking his cues from Jesus, not from the Psalms (for the record, I find it pretty unlikely that Augustus would have known much about OT scripture, either - he had quite a lot on his mind).
But in any event, Augustus was made a god, he never said or acted in a way which would imply he agreed with the claim 'Ye are all gods.'
