When a parent is faced with that decision, I just hope they will do what they think is best for their son and not get demonized for it by other people. Whatever that decision might be.
Why should the parents be the ones to weigh the pros and cons? Shouldn't the individual decide that for themselves?
They can. But as I said in my first post here. While circumcision is a simple and quick procedure on a baby, it is not that way when done on a grown, mature penis. So that's another thing that parents have to weigh. Get it over with while it's quick and easy, or let them make their own decision when it would be a more severe procedure, and possibly expensive?
The pro of the first option is that it's quick and easy and usually paid for by insurance. The pro of the second option is that they get to make the decision themselves. And the con of each is that they lack what the other has.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
