Well, the whole point is to weigh the pros and cons.
Personally, I don't see it as a pro to do a major surgery unless it is necessary. Even if it's harder later on, the procedure is severe enough that I don't think it'd be worth doing unless it was really needed. If it was a simple procedure, that would be different.
