Benefits of circumcision have already been posted by both myself and egg. You just don't agree with them, or think they are worthy.
The only benefit braces gave me were nicer looking teeth.
Oh, Jesus fucking Christ. What benefits, if any, are so fucking minimal that circumcision is not medically necessary in general. If the benefits were all that good, then all sensible healthcare professionals would be urging parents to circumcise their sons. But that's obviously not the case.
Furthermore, what results state is one thing and how they should be interpreted is another thing. So just because a statistically significant difference is detected in some of the results, which can often happen even if there is no serious difference in the population (especially if the statistical power is high), doesn't mean that the practical significance (or effect size) is high enough to make a confident decision. And let's not forget, in the cases of quasi-experiments, no matter how well quasi-experiments simulate experiments, they will never be as good as true experiments, and you can never be as confident about making conclusions of causality from quasi-experiments.
Overall, just because a study here says this and another study confirms it, does not mean we should now 100% trust the findings. In fact, chances are there may even be studies contradicting the findings of other studies. And that tends to happen A LOT in these peer-reviewed journals. And that's why replication matters. And why laypeople who don't know how to fucking be critical about peer-reviewed studies should not cite some scarce studies just to "be right".
And let's not forget the researcher's agenda as well. Agenda matters a lot, unfortunately. To the detriment of real science.
