Very good point Min.

Although I will always put my foot down on the Declaration of the Causes of Secession as being the "formal" reason why the war began, I also see how one small act of aggression can rally the troops for battle. The fear of slaves uprising and cutting the throats of their master at news of an uprising can pull some guns out of their holsters in that time frame.
