Wow. That's some big text.

It is in the nature of humans to form groups. These groups compete with one another for primacy. It is part of what makes us human. If by a peaceful world a world without war, then yes it is possible to have peace and religion so long as that competition is peaceable. If by a peaceful world you mean one without strife, then I'd say no. Whether it's religion or some other group formation, there will always be competition, and with it winners and losers. So, no, in that sense we can't have religion and a peaceful world. But in that religion is little different from other group formations.
