Oh..I dont know..perhaps a poetic way to describe real life times as viewed from the Islamic mythoogical persepective. When I read it, it made much more sense from that perspective than "cosmic strings."
Also, this is yet another example of taking mystical, symbolic talk and trying to spin it into an actual scientific theory. That is why most religions deal with symbolic speech, so that those who listen to it can hear what they want to hear. It is nothing new, and has even been a tactic of lyric writing for the last few hundred years. Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd were very adept at writting lyrics in this style. Its a win/win situation to do public writing in this fashion, as you will get the most agreement from saying "something", which in fact is really nothing.
