I hate certain words my species uses to give something undue value, and "doctrine" is one of them. It sounds official and lofty in intent, but the reality is that morals don't come from old books in any case.
I'd put it more like, "When you claim x as an idea, I cannot buy that motif as idea." But the repugnant part certainly I do agree with. If one is going to postulate the claim that there is a loving security guard who can protect you but is selective or refuses to or cops out to "I don't have to explain myself to you" or "It is your fault" victim blaming. Yes that is a very repugnant idea as a motif to try to intellectual defend. It smacks of the narcissism of a child who melts his plastic army men with a magnifying glass in the sandbox when he cant get them to do what he wants.
