Not this laptop, I think it was the one before, had horribly distorted sound, even at very low volume levels.
Eventually, I found buried in the sound menu somewhere, an equalizer! And all the settings were max'd out. I centered all the controls, and the damn thing sounded fine after that.
So, maybe it's just a setting somewhere ?
