Years ago, I had a friend whose salon I would frequent for my haircuts. Occasionally, she would be booked when I needed to come in and I would get shuffled off to one of the ladies who rented space there. One of them was a complete nightmare. She was clearly on meth every time I sat in her chair. Having her wield scissors anywhere near my head/neck was fucking terrifying. After a couple of these ordeals, I complained to my friend. Apparently, she decided that keeping customers (living, non-litigious customers) was more important than filling that space. I never saw Speedy-Edie-Scissorhands again.
