Anyone identify with being feminine? How about masculine?

I don't really understand "butch" lesbians.  But I don't understand any woman who spends hours painting themselves to catch the attention of others.
Makeup and high heels (seriously - those things are freaking stupid) and frilly pink crap - - it all feels terribly artificial and dishonest to me.  For attire, I go
for clean, comfortable, and simple.  I'm not "feminine" - I'm a single woman who is quite capable of taking care of herself.  I'm not "masculine" - my
behaviors and mental outlook is female.  I have been told that I come across as a bit asexual and that it confuses people.  That's fine with me.

That's interesting.  I'm a straight guy and married to a woman who frequently draws the attention of lesbians.  In part it is probably my fault.  I asked her early on to leave off the little make up she used and she happily shit canned it all.  She likes to wear a 'uniform', meaning she gets attached to a particular kind of outfit, stocks up and wears it every day.  She will wear a dress for a formal thing, otherwise never.  But I think one of things I appreciate most about her is the total lack of affectation in her voice.  She speaks her mind regularly and spontaneously as do I and we both appreciate it.

When we're younger and transitioning to adulthood it is normal to try out different ways to be.  But once we're grown I think it behooves us to get comfortable with ourselves as we are.  You sound like good people to me, Judi too.  In fact, I've always enjoyed the company of women more than men.  Maybe that makes me more feminine?  Don't know, don't really care, but it's all interesting.
