A protection? Are you an idealist? Maybe you simply have a different workplace experience than me. As I said, there are still a million ways to convey the same message without using any of the keywords. There's a million ways to hurt a person for what they are without using the N word, open sexism or other derogatorry terms.
Not an idealist. Look at the policies of most businesses and you will find codes of conduct that prohibit behaviors which make the workplace uncomfortable for people to work in. These are protections for minorities and women who can now earn their living without battling shitty ideas all day. I did not make this shit up.
