Dishonest argument. The problem with this deal is that it established a precedent, one that says, "Hey, the government is willing to bend the knee to corporations to save a few jobs." So Trump can boast about the 800 jobs he saved while thousands more still get outsourced and they get millions in tax cuts. Of course it is a good thing that those people are keeping their jobs, but this is bad long term

So what is your solution?

Are you genuinely curious what a better alternative would be, or are you using that as a way to argue in favor of what Trump did? Because you should know that even if I didn't have an alternative to suggest, it would be fallacious to say that's a good reason to make the deal.

But anyway, Carrier is run by United Technologies, and United has received billions of dollars in defense contracts. I think we should start blocking corporations from getting these federal contracts or other types of grants or loans when they outsource significant parts of their company, and we should tax the outsourced products to death (the second half is something Trump himself has actually gone on record supporting.)
