I didn't see it so I'm not entirely sure of the context of the conversation, but I'm glad someone said it.
The Right-wing are opportunists. This alt-Right are people who have swept in, appropriating traditionally Leftist language of "rights" and "freedoms", to appeal to people the Left have alienated. If we have a "Regressive Left", we can have an "Opportunist Right" who play into it.
That said I pity any fucker stupid enough to fall for it. Some of you working class white people need to wake the hell up, and realise that you have more in common with Ahmed and Jose over there, than you have with Quentin [insert posh-tot name here] The 3rd and his daddy CEO sitting up high in his office. Sorry to break it to you, you do. If you think these politicians sitting high in their ivory towers have genuine solidarity with you because you have less melanin, you're a gullible idiot.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie
